My name is Ben Seletzky. I am a senior in High School. I love art, just art in general all different shapes or forms of it. Music is one major form of art I enjoy. I love all different types of music from the reggae stylings of Matisyahu to the heavy chugging guitars of Chelsea Grin, to folk music like Mumford and Sons, Iron and Wine, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Another form of art I enjoy is paintings. Mostly paintings of surrealism. I love to see artists whose paintings separate themselves from the norm. Two of my favorite painters are Alex Pardee and Michael Cheval.
Lastly the biggest form of art I love is body art. From tattoos to ear stretching and other forms of body modification, its all beautiful. I look at my body like a canvas. I want to express on a physical level all of the feelings I have inside. Tattoos are also a great reminder to myself of where I was and what was happening in my life when I got it. I have hope and love tattooed on my forearms to remind me there is a reason to get out of bed everyday and to live my life. Body modification has saved my life by giving me a positive outlet of expressing myself.
